Hello from Vidya Wolton, artist and blogger, living and working on the Isle of Wight. Welcome to my site, with its eclectic mix of imagery. I regard myself as primarily a painter and that certainly was my original training, which I have remained largely true to over the years.

During the past year there have been forays into mail art, art on boxes (plenty of images to view as you navigate around) and more recently artist’s books. These are all ‘objects’ rather than paintings in the true sense, although there is alongside this a continuation with painting for its own sake.

Nature continues to be an enduring theme and regular excursions into wild places , whether it be coastal, river or the rural landscape. There is a connection with the land and sometimes just walking and being absorbed by nature is all that is needed. My background as an Ecologist prior to art college still plays a part. Occassionally I feel the need to blog about my nature encounters which you will find as a feature of this site.
